Using a small toy in the foreground can make it appear much larger relative to a person standing in the background. Shooting from a low angle is a great way to exaggerate the foreground and enhance this optical illusion. To adjust how the background looks, you can manually change your camera's aperture or use a smartphone's portrait mode. If a wide-angle lens distorts the straight lines of nearby buildings, you can use post-production tools to straighten them.
