Identify the Lead Law Enforcement Agency

When verifying an ongoing missing-person search, it is helpful to look at the national and local frameworks governing the investigation. In England and Wales, the Missing Children and Adults strategy provides a core framework for agencies to deliver the best protection possible. This strategy coordinates efforts to address the estimated 200,000 people who go missing in the UK each year. Identifying the responsible agencies ensures that public inquiries are directed to the correct official channels.
